The Raddle Marking Powder is an efficient powder used to apply on the ram's chest at tupping time.
Simply mix with oil (usually vegetable) into a thick paste. A rule of thumb for most farmers in a two table spoons, adding oil to achieve the right consistency. This is rubbed onto the rams chest between the front legs and towards the belly. Depending on the amount of ewes you may need to add more every few days to keep the colour coming through. The container can be resealed after use and it is available in a wide variety of colours. Changing colours every two to three weeks is advisable to see which ewes are repeating. We advise starting with a lighter colour and working through darker colours as the season proceeds.
